Need advice on 16 gauge plugs

I'm interested in some banana plugs for my rear speaker connections. I use Monster flat wire (16 gauge). I've picked up a few different plugs at Frys but they never seem big enough to fit my thicker 16 gauge wire. ?? I'm a newbie with plugs so can somebody please tell me the brand/type of plug that would work for my 16g wire?? I just want something cheap that will do the trick and make it easier to connect my wire to the receiver.

Much appreciated!

Re: Need advice on 16 gauge plugs

I use AR (Acoustic Research) banana plaugs, on my 14 ga. wire, which is a little bigger than 16 ga. I like the AR plugs, because there's no soldering to do. You put the wire in the plug, and tighten a little set screw down on the wire.

Take a look at Radio Shack.

Re: Need advice on 16 gauge plugs

16 gauge shouldn't be too large for any decent banana plug. I used these Monoprice plugs on 14 gauge with no problem...rated up to 12 gauge.

Re: Need advice on 16 gauge plugs

These Radio Shack 278-310 Bananas work with up to 12 ga wire quite nicely:
