It's hard to know on these eps just what's complete and unedited. The show has been so badly butchered in syndie for decades that it's hard to know whether scene fades or commercial breaks are the way they originally aired or were created for syndie eps.

All of the real commercial breaks for this series have a brief music cue prior to the fade, though, don't they?

Since this is one of the episodes MPI released, I checked it last night. There only appears to be one fade to black during the episode, right after Jethro puts Granny in Miss Hathaway's car and they all drive off.

Is it possible that the episode never had any commercial interruptions when
it originally aired? On the new set with the sponsor spot added in the show
clocks in at 29:05 and the other episodes with sponsor spots that I have watched so far clock in at 26-27 minutes. I might be wrong but it sounds to me that the music continues to play and does not stop during the fadeout on the MPI set. I remember watching the sponsor spot for this episode on the MPI set in the extras and thinking it was long.

Yeah, it's wierd because it doesn't feel like anything is missing content wise, but when those cuts happen, I feel like something was snipped.

I believe that commercial breaks were usually less than a minute back in the 60s with only one or two 15-30 second commercials.

I know it's incredibly nitpicky but I noticed an annoying mistake on the spine - the spine of the DVD reads "The Beverly Hillbilles." (Note the missing "i"). With all of the effort made to make a good set, couldn't the DVD packaging have gone through quality control?

Bought the second season last week and am LOVING IT!!!
Interesting to see the old cast commercials included.
Loved "Granny Learns to Drive"...Mel Blanc was Hysterically funny in that. But they never will match the Cousin Pearl episodes...she was my favorite.

I got this set for my birthday a couple weeks ago and I can't say ENOUGH how impressed I am!!!

First of all, I'm a newbie to TBHB. I remember watching it when I was quite little but as I grew older I focused my attention mainly on "Bewitched" (BW) and "I Dream of Jeannie" (IDOJ), so because TBHB didn't have any magic, I found I wasn't interested anymore.

When I started hearing about all the extras being released on this set, as well as those previous sets that have the first season on them, and then seeing that WGN was playing the series from the beginning, my interest got peaked.

Needless to say, I haven't had such great laughs with a classic series for a long time.

But back to this S.2...I LOVE the sponsor openings/closings and the cast promos. I was so impressed by how many there were and that we have the option of watching the episode with or without, though I don't know why anybody would watch w/o. I think it adds to the enjoyment.

As I don't know much about this series other than the fact that it was nine seasons, do the remaining seasons have sponsor openings/closings like this has?

I know with BW that the sponsor openings/closings dropped off towards the end of the series so I was wondering if it was the same here.
