Give your thanks to HTF/SVS/Highdef/FWC

I have decided to open a thread instead of having everyone giving thanks in their EMA reviews.

Anyone/everyone that attended EMA can give their thanks who made it a fun event.

Ron, SVS, Gord, highdefdiscnews.com, and formatwarcentral.com

Thanks you guys.

Ron- for TGIF dinner, inviting me and making a great gathering possible.
Great seeing you and also spending some time with you in your busy state.

SVS(Ron & Brendan)- for putting together a great system
and for treating us to Hikari's Sunday dinner.
Great seeing you again and hanging out with you two.

Tyler(Format War Central)-for treating us to the TGIF dinner.
A great guy to hang around with.

Brendan & Justin(HighDefDiscnews)- Two great and funny guys to hang with.
And don't hate me, but I know you did something to help make EMA possible, I just can't think of it.

Gord- Another very cool and relaxed guy to speak with.
For helping Ron with everything.

I really hope I haven't forgotten to thank anyone.

I just have one other word(s) to say

"The Bumble Bee"
Let's see who knows what I'm talking about
Probably one of the funniest things in our group.

Re: Give your thanks to HTF/SVS/Highdef/FWC

To start I would like to thank Ron Epstein for his tireless efforts, for his work here at the forum and for maintaining the many relationships with the studios and vendors that help him to put together a fantastic show.

Thanks to John for Starting this thread, a very good idea.

The dinner at TGI Friday's at the Orleans was great. The tuna was spicier than I thought it would be and the conversation at time was even spicier. The discussions with Paul and Winston from debating the price of theater Popcorn because of the demand for Ethanol Corn was classic to comparing how many HD DVRs we each had were also memorable. I still prefer Denon over Lexicon when it comes to AV Receivers. Thanks for having me and feeding me a much needed meal Ron. (A fact to be debated as to whether I truly need it for those who have met me in person )

The Allumination team was very spirited but even more so at the EMA awards show. Andrew and I sat behind them and they truly seemed to enjoy themselves. Thanks to them.

I would like to thank Brandon at asoundinvestment for discussing the possibility of picking up the Denon receiver used in the Classical presentation room. It was fun visiting with you this year even though I didn't get to fall asleep in the presentation room at 2:00 in the morning watching 300 on Blu Ray like last year!

Thank you TCFHE for the their presentation and generous gifts of the digital copy versions of The Hitman, Jumper and Family Guy Blue Harvest.

Thanks also to Rich, Fritz and Grover from Sony and their cool BD-Live Presentation. The Men In Black Game was cool and truly thought with all of us in the room we would have helped them win against the three folks playing.

Having Ed Begley Jr. discuss his environmental efforts, his acting style on the Chris Guest films and his recent work on Recount was very cool. I took several pages of notes related to his anecdotes and will post them later. The video shown at the EMA awards with clips from "Living with Ed" were great. Thank you for arranging his appearance.

The Echo Bridge Session with Jamie Kennedy was a blast. Thank you Echo Bridge and Ron for arranging this. Winston, Eric, Andy, Paul and I had fun discussing Jamie's roles and debating for awhile whether the DVD on the tables was the full movie. Thanks Ron for putting that issue to bed for us.
Also, I think Andy ate more than Winston or I.

Thanks Sam (KADATH) for the many pictures at the event. I appreciate the shots with Ed Begley Jr., Jamie Kennedy and Tommy Chong at the pre-mixer event at Pearl.

Thank you Paul for being a good roommate and you make a wonderful Oracle for Obama! Ron thanks and apologies for listening to Paul and I have our spirited debated at the VAS reception. I was worried I left you with the impression that I was something more than the moderate I am. Paul is a great debater!!

Thank you Andy and Winston. I have come to truly enjoy spending time in person with you guys. That includes everyone in the forum, more than just reading your posts and reviews, getting to spend time with the people on the forum who share in the same passion we all do means a lot.

For that I am thankful the most.

Thank you again for allowing me to have this opportunity Ron and to also have some many wonderful new memories to take with me.

All my best,

Michael

Re: Give your thanks to HTF/SVS/Highdef/FWC

My thanks to all those already mentioned.

I would also like to say a special thanks to Sam for taking the official HTF pictures again this year.

Ken, it was nice meeting you even though you are from Michigan!

Paul, great questions and it was good to see you again.

Of course, my thanks to Ron for all the work you put into this. Without you, there would be no HTF. I'm looking forward to the meeting in October.

Re: Give your thanks to HTF/SVS/Highdef/FWC

This was my first HTF event, and it was a blast.

Thank you, Ron, and all the others who helped put this event together, especially the sponsors, for whom this event would probably not have happened without their gracious and generous involvement, as well as the EMA for their generous invitation.

I feel as if I have made some new friends after this trip, and look forward to seeing everyone again!!!

Re: Give your thanks to HTF/SVS/Highdef/FWC

I echo everyone's major thanks, and privately send a few who showed special kindnesses to me/us throughout the week behind the scenes, you know who you all are!

Thanks also to Tyler for splitting the room with me!

Can't wait for Hollywood, and only wish we could resurrect the NYC DVD walks we used to do, maybe I will get off my ass and give that a shot some time.
