I have read and heard several opinions with respect to amp bridging, for increased power, VS utilizing a single higher powered stereo amp.

My front speakers are Polk Rti-12's that are rated at 500 watts. I currently drive them with a tired TFM-45 which appears to have been updated several times while still having intermittent connections at the power bd. edge connectors. In the interest of retiring this amp, consideration is being given to three possibilities. The third being open to a new amp, other than Carver, that may provide good power at an equivalent price.

1.) Would there be an audible difference between running two Carver TFM-35's bridged VS a single TFM-75?

2.) Having minimal exposure/knowledge to what may be available, is there another amp that anyone would recommend capable of accomplishing the same task?

Thank you for any/all information that can be provided.
