I'm pretty sure those details haven't surfaced yet. However, it would greatly influence how I would buy them. If these sets are one case housings, then its back to purchasing select titles now for me and waiting for lesser wants to go on sale.

Re: MGM Press Release: 007 on Blu-ray
Bond on Blu-ray (US - BD RA) in News > Releases at DVDActiveThe Connery and Moore 007 Blu's for me. Where's On Her Majesty's Secret Service?! Next batch of Blu's? I don't even own a Blu-ray player yet! YET, if all the titles carry over every single extra from the Ultimate Editions and have the original Mono sound in lossless quality, these are highly worthwhile upgrades. AND they're cheap on Amazon.com! I wonder if these'll have booklets. Only High Definition release I own which has a booklet is my HDDVD of BLADE RUNNER.
Um, no comment on Moonraker...
Wonder when they'll release the Dalton 007's also. Not sure if I should buy the current Blu of Casino Royale or wait for the double discer?Might as well build up the titles before I buy the player!

| Since their official announcement last month, details and cover art for the upcoming James Bond Blu-ray discs have started to come in. The special features that will accompany the first six Bond titles (Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Thunderball, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only and Die Another Day) have now been confirmed in a press release. The listing of extras should look pretty familiar to most 007 fans as it’s merely the special features that debuted on the Ultimate Edition DVDs carried over. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment did confirm to TheHDRoom that the special features would be presented in high-definition. |

DVDTimes is reporting that the Director/Producer commentary will be Bonus View (i.e., PiP) on the new "Casino Royale" SE. It will also be a 2-disc set, which pretty much guarantees the special features (which are supposedly all of the ones from the DVD SE) will be in HD.

Sounds tempting. Although if the film were the 'uncut' version that saw release in Australia on BD, I would certainly double-dip.

Unless the second disc is common to both sets ala Blade Runner and is just an SD DVD.

Re: MGM Press Release: 007 on Blu-ray
Hi guys-You guys probably know a lot more then I do about the Bond discs coming. I read and skimmed over most of the posts here being mostly new to the high def threads.
I got an email advert from Amazon and they're listing the 2 box sets of three films each, all titles already mentioned above. Plus they list each film separately and the new SE of Casino Royale. These will be a bit pricey. But then I paid $80 each for Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Goldfinger Criterion laserdiscs when they first came out.

I know it was a while back but I thought they had planned to release the movies by themselves too. The only reason I remember that is because I just assumed that they'd release them in sets at first (like every DVD release).

There's rumours that the single releases are going to be steelbooks! I hope that's true and the releases are region free.

Re: MGM Press Release: 007 on Blu-ray
Are we now at the point that, if we can't bitch about the films being forced on us as a bundle, that we now have to bitch about them not being in a bundle?
Let's not forget that Connery's relationship with the Bond series is rocky at best, up to and including making an unsanctioned Bond movie. There's a bunch of obstacles to jump in this case that were pretty unlikely to be resolved. Plus, a Connery package would have skipped over a movie. On top of that, if they did it for him, then everyone would have to have one, which would lead to "packs", none of which would be the same size: 6 (Bond), 1 (Lazenby), 7 (Moore), 2 (Dalton), and 4 (Brosnan).
And of course, "desirable" is a completely subjective term that changes from person to person and film to film. The number of people who like Moore's run is probably close to that of Connery's for instance.

Re: MGM Press Release: 007 on Blu-ray
If I am not mistaken, in the UK region release, one of the past releases of box sets did indeed have a Connery set, a Moore set, and a Brosnan set with Dalton in the same set. Not sure how Lazenby was handled.I could be totally wrong here, but I thought they did this in the UK about 4 years ago. Maybe someone else knows more.

Why not just put out chronological sets..."Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a DARK KNIGHT."

Re: MGM Press Release: 007 on Blu-ray
How would Connery's "relationship" vis a vis Bond have any bearing on the composition of box sets?To me, the best solution would be to box all the Connery's and Lazenby together and label the set as the Bond years from A to B. Moore's run would be the next set running from years C to D. Dalton and Brosnan would be boxed as years E to F. Craig's run would be from year G to the present.
People would then be able to get what they want, assuming they want to buy all of the movies in a given run of years. I would like to get all of the Connery's and Lazenby. I would consider Moore's run, but most likely would pass on Brosnan's run, while individually picking up "The Living Daylights" which is the only Dalton film that I really liked.
When you have to shoot...shoot. Don't talk!

just bringing up a "connery issue" makes it seem like your saying it is a factor in how the movies are bundled and i was going to ask what does any actor issue have to do with the way they are bundled.
also who said that "never say never again" had to be sanctioned.
doesn't the man who made the movie own the rights to the story?
what one was this from, thunderball?
plus isn't it plainly obvious as to why these are bundled and released
this way.
they don't think people will buy some of these movies separately
or will just skip right by them and wait for just the ones they will buy.
