Denon 3808 Issue

Okay I got a Denon 3808 receiver recently and I'm having a major setup issue or possibly hardware issue. Whenever I set the system to any kind of surround sound setting or turn on the sub-woofer I loose all sound. I get sound as long as I leave it on Stereo w/o sub-woofer only. Also when going to the auto setup it just hangs at detecting speakers. I've checked all my connections and they are good and solid to both the reciver and speakers, anyone have any ideas?

Have you unplugged the amp, waited a minute and plugged it back in? Have you tried disconnecting the sub then going to a surround mode? Does it work without the sub plugged in? If so maybe your sub cable is shorting out. ??
