Has anyone measured the inrush current for the Mcintosh 252 or 402 amplifiers. I am trying to decide between the two. I live in a house with 15 amp breakers on circuits that already have some load. Adding a circuit or changing a breaker is not an option. Looking at the schematics of these units I see a 12 amp slo blo on the 252 and a 15 amp slo blo on the 402. They both have RTC assemblies but don't indicate the cold and hot value of the RTC's. I imagine, given the size of the caps (33,000 uf and 56,000 uf respectivley) that the inrush current is a much bigger potential problem than the operating current even at high sound levels. Is anyone running either of these off of a 15 amp ckt with a couple of 100 watt lights and a computer? Any problems. Do the lights dim when you power up, play at high volumes etc. Ever trip the breaker? I would particularly be interested if anyone has ever measured the current draw. Please don't respond by citing to the current specs in the manual. I have them (10 amp for 402 and 6.6 amp for 252) those do not tell me what I am looking for.
