Sony what's the hold up??

It was rumored that they would be releasing this year:

-Ladies of the Chorus
-Miss Sadie Thompson
-The Heats On
-Craig's Wife/Harriett Craig (double feature)
-Salome
-Autumn Leaves
-Tonight and Every Night
-Affair in Trinidad
-My Sister Eileen

Back in 2000-2002, they were doing a pretty decent job at releasing classics, but their classic releases of lately have come to a standstill.

Corey's most wanted R1 dvds:

Little Darlings (1980), My Cousin Rachel (1952), The Deep Blue Sea (1955), The White Cliffs of Dover (1944), Born to Be Bad (1950), Ivy (1947), Reckless (1935), Springtime in the Rockies (1942), The Barretts of Wimpole Street

Maybe it has just been discontinued?

But I agree they don't release enough. They usually just reissue already available titles in boxed sets.

That's the 1955 musical remake of MY SISTER EILEEN.

The rumor references the 1942 stageplay adaptation, with Rosalind Russell and Janet Blair (and The Three Stooges in a cameo).

TCM showed a pristine print of Autumn Leaves and they should know how big of a seller Joan's films are on dvd. They could easily package it with the The Story of Esther Costello and They All Kissed the Bride.

TCM is showing AUTUMN LEAVES again this Tuesday (5/27), at 8:45am. It's a nice print of one of Crawford's best from that period.

Unless Sony does a deal like Paramount did with Legend, I doubt we'll see any classics in the foreseeable future. It's pretty clear that they're just not interested.

Classic film lovers will just have to settle for Warners, Fox and Universal ..... and the sproadic titles Paramount licenses to Criterion and Legend.

Totally. They could put them in a boxed set and just call it a generic Westerns collection and it would sell. And of course the Boetticher fans would snap it up.

I watched Comanche Station for the first time a month ago and loved every second of it. Everything is in its right place in that film.

I don't understand... they put out the great Katzman set last year, recently released the long anticipated Golden Boy and than suddenly their classic catalog releases dry up and they halt operations. Why?!

I realize there's the upcoming Hammer Icons and Stooges sets but Sony is not nearly doing enough with their film holdings...
