Re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt + David Fincher)
A little off topic, but I'll be watching this movie closely to see Madisen Beaty's first role in a "Big" film (Cate's character at age 10).
You see, I was on the crew of a film making competition that helped discover this fine young actress. We cast her in the lead role for our Boulder Shootout entry in 2005; "The Emperor's Daughter". Up to this point she'd only done local theater and one PSA spot.

If you click on the link you'll have to do a title search for "The Emperors Daughter" to find it. The rules of this competition are to make a 7 minute film in 24 hours entirely in-camera (no editing). The story/script is weak, but I'm proud of my camera-work/"editing". (I was the cinematographer. All camera work was done on a cheap cam-corder in-camera.) IMO It's pretty ambitious to attempt fight scenes and special effects without any editing.
--Please don't laugh at some of the sound editing mistakes. We almost didn't get this in on time and the director (and star-the Samurai) didn't have time to delete my voice from the first fight scene.

Madisen was really impressive, even back in 2005. Very professional. She stayed up late into the night and woke up early to get this done. She did this with very little rehearsal - most of that was for the fight scenes so she wouldn't get hit with a sword.

I'm really proud of Madisen and I hope she does well in her career.
