AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

#1
Rating: 0
2 scenes are same as they are in the theatrical cut. however on the dvd the 2 scenes are different. there seemed to be a problem in the authoring and nobody catched it on the final control.

the scenes i'm talking about are...

time index 00:19.14 (br) / 00:19.29 (dvd) - predalien kills the homeless woman
time index 01:26.05 (br) / 01:22.39 (dvd) - blonde chick gets killed by the predator (on dvd she gets cut in half)

at this point, i'm not going to get avp2 and wait for a proper release from fox.

any information regarding a fixed br is apprichiated

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

what is different? welp, as i wrote above: when the homeless woman gets killed by the predalien you see the predalien from behind. in the d.c. you see here legs bounces on the ground. the 2nd scene is when the blond chick is killed by the predator's ninja star. in the theatrical version you see her just get pinned on the wall. in the d.c. you see how her lower body slides down the wall.

trust me, fox screwed it up!!!

the funny thing is, that you see the 2nd scene in the extras. check the featurette "fight to the finish: post production"

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

It's very simple, what he is saying is that on the Blu-Ray, two scenes that should be different in each of the versions, aren't. They're the same on Blu-Ray no matter which version you're watching, where as on DVD, the two scenes are different depending on which version you're watching. He is saying that the Blu-Ray shows only the theatrical versions of the scenes in question, that the unrated versions of those scenes are missing from the Blu-Ray.

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

I think what Enrico is trying to say (correct me if I'm wrong, Enrico) is that the Unrated Cut on the SD-DVD is different from the Unrated Cut on the BD, with the BD still having the "theatrical versions" of the two scenes he mentioned. (I don't have the SD, so I can't compare it for myself.) I'm now kind of curious about this myself.

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

that's how it is. i saw the unrated version on dvd and then the br from a friend. it was like a "wait a minute" moment. this has been confirmed by others too.

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

so you're saying those two scenes
are supposed to be differennt on the ur BR
but they are just actaually the same as the
rated version of the sd dvd.

Does the ur sd DVD have the ur footage
of those two scenes.

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

tony, that's correct.

i also checked the br on a computer and looked at all files on the br. the scenes aren't even on the disc. this means fox has to re-issue it and open up a replacement program for those who already bought it.

i can only suggest to anyone not to buy this film.

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

Wow, I'm kinda torn about this. On the one hand, it sucks that Fox would F**K UP this release in this way. I love good gore and these films are usually a testament to that. On the other hand, the Blu-ray of this film is sooooo damn dark that, even if it were included in the cut, you probably would have a hard time making it out. We'll, here's another reason to love Fox on Blu-ray.

" I think it's time we go to plan B". "What's plan B?" "That's the one where we don't do something stupid".

now here is the funny thing:

if you watch the included trailers for the movie, then you see an awesome picture without the "way too dark" thing.

Re: AVP2 D.C. problem: When does FOX fix it???

the extended cut on blu-ray is not the same as the dvd. it misses out the 2 two scenes mentioned above. this is an authoring error.

btw, no answer from fox regarding this problem
