I always seem to have trouble actually getting on the chat.

Here are some movies I would love Warner to release or consider. Post the ones you wish to ask for in the chat.

I regularly send Warner e-mails asking for these films as well, hopefully they can get released someday.

Having a widescreen tv, it looks really bad watching a cropped film blown up to fit the tv. It would look better if these were in their proper ratio.

There are more I would like released, but they can only do so much in such little time.

We can hope that if we all agree and post the same titles, Warner might see that they are wanted.

An 2-disc SE of Beetlejuice would be great, and one of Mars Attacks! too while we're at it.
16:9 enhanced Special Editions of both Barry Lyndon and Lolita, they were left out of the previous newly remastered boxset. That's a shame, because they're both wonderful movies. Plus some documentaries, because I can't believe those movies don't have anything interesting to say. The controversy surrounding Lolita, and the technical breakthroughs on Barry Lyndon, for instance.

I also agree with Mark about a Henry Fonda set. The release of the titles he listed are way overdue. Particularly, in my opinion, Sex and the Single Girl. With a cast consisting of Henry Fonda, Lauren Bacall, Tony Curtis and Natalie Wood, I am completely shocked that Warner has ignored a DVD release so far.

I'd ask about Magnificent Ambersons also, only because of Warner's comment during the 2007 chat about having found "good elements" of the film for an expected 2008 DVD release.

I second many of Mr. Pytel's choices. The 'Grumpy Old Men' films are a MUST. I'd also like to own a widescreen version of "Caddyshack II". Xbox Live has a widescreen version for download, so it's out there. The 2 'Police Academy' films being open matte are the reason I haven't purchased the box set. I'd love for them to fix those. "My Fellow Americans" needs a widescreen release. Saw it on TV a few weeks back and forgot how hysterical that one is. An anamorphic "Tango & Cash" would be damn nice, as well as a Collector's Edition of "Beetlejuice".

Thanks. And I would also like to mention a re-issue of Little Shop Of Horrors, with the original ending intact. The first dvd had this ending, but it was only in black and white, and several sound and music effects were missing. It was pulled out of the market by David Geffen, who hadn't authorized it. Then, apparantly, it was pulled because Geffen wanted to re-release LSoH theatrically with the original ending, for it's 20th anniversary (that was in 2006). Later there were plans of a new dvd release (aside from the second one) with the ending intact. And that's when we stopped hearing from it.

Oh, another one that slipped my mind. "Made In America" with Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson! I would love for that to be re-released in widescreen as well.

I would ask them on any plans to release anything that is unreleased in their possession for Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, Spencer Tracy and Clark Gable. I would also ask if their were any plans to release their best selling Gary Cooper title Sergeant York in Blu-Ray or Friendly Persuastion.

From what Mr. Epstein has posted in the past, Warner has been invited to do a chat but has not responded. My opinion is that it does not appear that such an event is in the cards this year.

Rather than posting yet another wish list thread I would suggest that writing letters to Warner Home Video would be much more effective in making your wishes known.

I would have two questions.

Where the heck are the Dark Shadows movies? In last year's chat they said they were coming but over a year later, We're still waiting.

Also I would like to see what the reaction would be to releasing the Man From UNCLE movie set in Region 1. I suspect it would get a very uninterested reaction.

Something that may need a reminder - Warner Music is not actually owned by Warner Bros. anymore. While Time Warner holds a minority interest, the entire recording company is owned by a third party led by former Seagram's (and Universal Studios) president Edgar Bronfman.

That means things like the Neil Young and Paul Simon concerts would be under Rhino's domain, not Warner Home Video.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a SE release for We Are Marshall, especially since this was a top seller and rental for them the week of release. Incredible sports film that I had read it was originally planned to be a 2-disc, so I wonder what happened. This would be the first on my list I would ask Warner.

That kind of disturbs me. Hopefully that does not mean anything. There have been many changes in the industry and they have not been kind for people who want to see something other than the latest blockbuster on dvd. Those changes have taken place at Warner as well.

Apparently Warner's decision to go bluray only was brought about because of changes in personnel. The old regime supported both but the new regime was more than willing to take payoffs from Sony and to lie and cheat their customers.

Warner's tv division has pretty much ignored its classic catalog. By far, the best Warner classic tv title was The Man From UNCLE. The only trouble is that Warner licensed it. The only reason for that was likely the legal issues concerning ownership of dvd rights. If not for that, UNCLE would likely be rotting in Warner's vault with the rest of their classic titles.

I hope that Warner's movie divison will not get caught up in the mediocracy
that the rest of Warner's divisions, and most of the major studios' division practice.

Perhaps Warner Bros. decided not to participate because there were too many posts saying that Warner Bros said something was going to be released at a certain time and then it wasn't. People on this board and elsewhere were critical of the 85th Anniversary announcements saying it included almost nothing that hadn't already been leaked. What I want and maybe others too is a list of what is being released in the next six months to a year with the list of all the extras. At this point I think Warners knows what the people on this board want released. I sure it is a matter of what elements exist and if they feel there is enough demand to make a DVD and/or blu-ray financially successful. All that said I hope they release the long promised 3 movie Complete Showboat boxset.

I'm really just interested in knowing how the work on their silents is coming along. WB always has cool titles in the pipleline, but I'm itching to see stuff like Greed, The Crowd, and The Big Parade.

Also, I'm hoping they don't go with a chronological Tom & Jerry set, but rather chronological or mixed MGM sets. I prefer the variety of the Looney Tunes sets. Besides, it'll be neat to have a lot of different cartoons in one set: Happy Harmonies, T&J, Tex Avery, etc. It would only take 6 4-disc volumes to get all the MGM cartoons on DVD, anyways.

Rather than a chat it would be nice if we had a thread like this in which we list off titles and specific queries, have the mods close and sticky it at the top of the forum and giving admin status to let the WHV staff pick through it and offer "yes", "no", "in the works", "eventually coming", etc. responses with brief explanations where warranted and than post a promotional list of titles to look out for in the forthcoming year.

That's basically what we get from the chats anyway, it'd be just as informative and satisfactory to me and a lot simpler to coordinate.

To date we have heard nothing definitive. They have not accepted our multiple invites.
