U.S. Air Passenger Sceening and Rx Meds

I'm heading to Vegas next month and it's been a while since I've been on a plane and I'd like some info please.
I take several Rx meds and buy them in 3 month supplies online. When I travel I usually put a few of each in an unmarked plastic tube for use on the trip which saves the hastle of taking a bunch of plastic bottles.
I found this on the TSA web site:
Quote:
Non-liquid or gel medications of all kinds such as solid pills, or inhalers are allowed through the security checkpoint once they have been screened. We recommend, but do not require, that your medications be labeled to assist with the screening process.
My question is: Will my container of various un-marked meds cause any problems at check-in ? I am WAYY to paranoid about loss of luggage to put my meds in the checked bags

Re: U.S. Air Passenger Sceening and Rx Meds

I only fly a couple of times a year for work (so I'm not a hard-core resource); but I've always just put my pills in one of those day-of-the-week containers and have never had a problem.

Just like all the other aspects of screening, I'm guessing it's airport specific how they deal with it. My usual airports are Phila, Denver, CoSprngs, SanFrancisco, Chicago.

I second Al. These work great and cause no issues.

WOW. Just trying to help you avoid potential problems with TSA. (And nobody's calling you old here, BTW.) But the container Al and I recommend is a fair sight better than an unlabeled bottle in your carry-on. (And will be less suspicious at check-in, as well)

And once you get to Vegas, who are you planning on showing your meds to anyway, so what does it matter if the container they're in isn't the "coolest"?

BUT, if a container that's typically associated with an older crowd isn't your bag, there are electronic versions available that may appeal to a more "tech"-minded individual.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. I was whining because I need to take that many medications in the first place. My rant had nothing to to with the container itself. If it works. it works.
And I DO NEED another pair of reading glasses

Re: U.S. Air Passenger Sceening and Rx Meds

hi guys

I could be wrong...but I am "pretty sure" that all meds are supposed to be carried in their original containers with the prescription label legible and intact.

Isnt this part of the reason why that ultra conservative radio show host got busted a few years ago in Florida for ?
The Sonodome - circa 2001
The Newest Sonotube - circa 2001
Gregg's DVDs updated...sometimes
Lion Audio Video Consultants usually current

That seems to be more dependant upon the law of whatever state the airport is located, rather than the TSA regulations for the screening of medications, which the OP quoted in his initial post. TSA: Travelers with Disabilities and Medical Conditions

If you would like to keep the "original packaging" that Gregg talks about, another option is to talk to your doctor or someone at the pharmacy to give you "travel-sized" containers for your medication.

That's the problem right there, these meds are stuff I take every day and as such I have to buy in 90 day supplies online from Medco.

Hehe. I remember when I first walked in on my dad going through all of his pill bottles on Saturday night and sorting them out by day. It was the first time I looked at him and said, "Fuck, you're old!"
That said, he's still kicking and going strong today so Al and Nathan's suggestion probably isn't a bad one.

Maybe your Doc could write you a seperate small-quantity prescription that you could get filled at a local pharmacy? Or bypass the Doc and go the Pharmacy directly and see if they can help you with some empty packaging with your name on it? The worst they can say is "no"...
