i just picked up a mint condition yamaha yst-sw150 active servo processing subwoofer system ( thats a mouth full ) for $9.00 
at the local thrift store.
currently my receiver and sub ( 120w) is just a sony 6.1 htib model ..i think retailed for $499.00 ....
having hooked this yamaha up , it clearly is more impressive than the sony, and of course looks cool !
have i stepped up the ladder in subs....just wondering apart from the steal of a price , is this unit a good move ?
and any idea how to set it up properly ?....
