I think ScarJo will be just fine.  She can act -- she's not there because of her looks (although they help).

Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it meant to roast in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

Patrick, I know you are a fan of Stana Katic.  Admittedly, I have only seen her briefly on Castle (it did not draw me in) but I am not a fan.  ScarJo with a bad accent would be tough to take but if she is able to pull it off, I am fine with her casting.

Depends on how she would do it. If it's not a too over the top accent, but slightly subtle, it could be fine. I also thinks she's a fine actress, and I don't really understand where all the fuss suddenly comes from. She was great in Lost in Translation, or Ghost World, or even The Man Who Wasn't There (small role, but she pulled it off greatly considering her young age that time).. Does anybody even know how big her role is going to be? From the looks of it, Mickey Rourke seems to be the main villain.

Never go out with anyone who thinks Fellini is a type of cheese

No, but the role is potentially important to a lot of franchises.  Black Widow can fit in Iron Man, the Avengers or even Captain America.  Of course, if she doesn't work out, they can always recast ala Rhodey.  I'm not that worried about who might or might not have made a better BW because the decision was made long ago, principal photography is over and any opinion to the contrary wouldn't change anything in any case.

Now rumor has it that Edward Norton will have a possible cameo as both Bruce Banner and the Hulk. If true, this will surely make some fans green with envy.

I loved Downey's cameo in Incredible Hulk so Norton doing a turn in IM2 would be very cool.

It's kind of hard to believe though given Norton's rocky relationship with Marvel at the moment.

"Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a DARK KNIGHT."

Yeah, that's the only thing that gives me pause about the possibility of the cameo. Maybe they've patched things up, though, and he's on board with doing future projects with Marvel. I hope it's true.

I sure wish they didn't reveal Iron Mans identity as Stark so early.

Love to see Tony taking it to the senators.  Also, I have to laugh at Stark talking with Fury in the famous donut shop under the big donut.  In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, you have to talk to Jackson's character in the same place.

The interesting thing is, Randy's is drive- or walk-up service only.  There's no place inside where you can sit down and eat, so they must've built a little set somewhere to make that scene happen.

GTA lied to me!  Is Randy's only in LA?  Because there is also one in SA's version of San Francisco.  In the game, they are called Rusty Brown's Ring Donuts.  So, they at least have the excuse of being fictional, so they can take license.

In the Starsky and Hutch game, you can jump your car through the Randy's donut.

Okay, back to Iron Man.

"Is Randy's only in LA?" Technically, yes. It's actually located in Inglewood. Randy's was once part of a chain called the Big Donut Drive-In; there were 10 of them scattered around the greater LA area. Five of those still exist, operating independently.

I'm glad they did do that. Otherwise we'd get the same 'villain knows the hero's identity, hits him personally on some level' plot we've seen a lot of times. It's refreshing to get something different.

Absolutely, Brian.  I'm sick and tired of the "have to protect my secret identity, even though it's painfully obvious who I am" games of most superhero movies.

While in Toronto attending the International Film Festival, MTV News tracked down Edward Norton, the actor who most recently brought Hulk to the big screen in 2008's "Incredible Hulk." In town to promote his new film "Leaves of Grass" (which received rave reviews after its premiere at the festival), Norton addressed the rumors that his comic book alter ego will appear in "Iron Man 2."

I read some old rumor that Hawkeye would be in this.  I don't see him on a cast list.  Was that shot down?

IGN had a chance to talk with actor Sam Rockwell while he was down in Austin promoting Jared Hess' Gentleman Broncos at Fantastic Fest, and of course, they threw in a couple questions about Rockwell's upcoming role as weapons dealer Justin Hammer in next year's anticipated Iron Man 2.

(Note: The title should be a hint that there is a plot spoiler in Rockwell's response, so if you don't want to know the answer, than stop reading here!)

They didn't get anything too exciting out of the actor, but in talking about his character Justin Hammer, Rockwell did let slip that Hammer would be working with Mickey Rourke's Whiplash to get revenge on Tony Stark. Rockwell told IGN the following:

"He's a rival of Tony's - they are competitors in the weapons industry. I team up with Michey Rourke and we decide we want to take him down and take down the Stark legacy. He's sort of like a cousin of the Charlie's Angels character I played. The smarmy cousin. But it's Mickey - he does the fighting and the kicking ass in the film."

When asked about playing the lead in a superhero movie, he told them he'd be willing to do one if he could do it with his Moon director Duncan Jones.

So what do you think? Makes sense that the very different Iron Man 2 villains team-up... just like in just about every superhero movie where there are two villains? And what about that idea of the guys behind Moon doing a superhero movie together?

Iron Man 2 is scheduled to open on May 7, 2010.
