Calling all races fans!!! Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii came out today.
And if you pre-ordered it, it comes with a free steering wheel.

I kind of like playing it with the steering wheel.

Here is my friend code.
Would love to race others online.

So, recommended? Still have not decided on this one. How do you accelerate and brake? Do you have to push the steering wheel forward and back for that or do you use any buttons?

Sam,
Need to go to the online section of the game.
It will also be listed in your driver's license stat sheet

I took today off from work.
So if you want to play anytime today let me know.
I don't even have you as a normal Wii code friend

Wii code is for your system, between friends.
Then each online game as a separate friend code.

Accelerate is button 2.
Brake/hop/reverse is button 1
A button is to look backwards.
B button also does braking
Cross button is to use items.
The steering wheel is to turn
Shaking the steering wheel performs tricks when you drive over ramps.

to do wheelies when riding bike lift the wheel up. to end the wheelie push the wheel down.

I think it's a lot of fun.
But the most fun comes when you go online and race others.

I'm already starting to unlock some of the hidden cars(karts)

Adding you right now Mike.
My name is changing from John to Bosko for Mario Kart

The cool thing too is that eventually you can use your Mii's to race with.
And all of your library Miis incorporate themselves into the Mario Kart game.
Either as racer, spectators, statues or advertisements.

It's funny that in the shopping mall raceway.
My Michael Jackson Mii pulled up in his own toy car to block me.
and I saw a Chuck Norris Mii advertisement

Are you having problems connecting? I can barely get on and then when I do i keep disconnecting a few seconds into the race.

Mike,
I've only been booted out twice.
I just think it's a surge of people getting online.
As this is the first day of release.
But since you raced with me a few times, you know it's been running pretty smoothly.

I think Hot Shots Golf for PS3 is terrible right now, as they are going through a major upgrade.
you can barely play golf online.

I picked up a copy at Costco ($43.99), along w/ a couple of extra Nintendo steering wheels at TRU; I haven't had a chance to yet try out the online mode, but I'll post my Wii/Friend codes soon enough for those interested. Believe it or not, this is the first Mario-based game I've ever purchased for the Wii...as such, I am a relative newbie as far as understanding the nuances of playing Mario-type games (e.g., Mariokart, Super Smash Bros., Super Mario, etc.).
