Definitive Technologies 7.1 In-Wall Speaker recommendations needed

so far for my HT, I've settled upon Yamaha RX-V1800 and Sammy HL61A750. I know I want Definitive Technologies for Speakers, (my rec Room HT has Def Tech Speakers and I LOVE THEM), but I'm not sure what I need since I'm new to 7.1 configurations. Do I need bipole/dipole? Do they go on the sides? Back? Both? Other? I need some help on speaker selection/configuration please! Thanks!

Re: Definitive Technologies 7.1 In-Wall Speaker recommendations needed

Hi,

I love the DEfTech line, had them for many yrs and still don't feel a need to upgrade.

For 7.1 setup, you'll need 2 fronts, 1 center, 2 sides, 2 rears, and a subwoofer (that's the .1 in the "7.1"). As far as which one to get I would say it depends on how open your check book is and also your room dimension.

28 x 13, TV and components will be installed on the short wall, (13 footer). <$3,000 for speakers. Model # reco's welcome, thanks! Do the rear surrounds need to match the front surrounds? side surrounds? Thx x2.
