Yes, I was also thinking that, but this reviewer is kinda experienced and (in his own words) very "picky" when it comes to A/V (many will remember his columns and such during the format war.. )-issues. But he doesn´t have PS3 ("greatest Blu-ray player ever"), so that might be the issue.

Seriously, I hope that he will test the disc with some other player also, just in case.

Well, I have to trust my own ears/eyes. That´s eventually good enough for me..

Other reviews that doesn´t mention any audio-issues (NOTE: This doesn´t mean that the "audio issue" is not there, but if it´s indeed there, it must be quite minor issue..)

Got my copy today and dipped into it on a UK PS3 connected to my amp via HDMI, and then onto my LCD.

Couldnt see any sync problems.

whenthere is a sync problem you SEE the lips moving out of co-ordination
with the sound coming from them.

now for ST-3
not a bad movie.
not as much action as the first but the story kept me involved.
plenty of humor, a it of gore.
government conspiracy, maybe satire, and a surprise plot development.

the sound is ok, but i didnt hear much from the surrounds.
sfx were mediocre but were fine for the most part.

now for the bad news.
lip sync problems, i noticed this more then ST 1.
really bad in a few scenes.

if this is a hdmi issue i havent seen it with any other BR yet.

I found Starship Troopers III to be hilariously funny. Whether or not that was the intent, but the singing Sky Marshal tickled me pick. That's not to say that I'd drop the full cash to buy it, you understand.

Apparently there was another problem with the original Starship Troopers disc involving a repeating of a six-second segment of the film just after the 1 hour, 31 min mark (just after Michael Ironside's character looks out beyond the fort walls to see a massive army of bugs approaching...the clip where he says 'fall back' and jumps down is replaced by the repeated scene even though the audio of the clip plays normally).

Anyway, there was a replacement disc issued for this one....it's been discussed over at the blu-ray.com forum on the following thread:

Starship Troopers Problem - Page 5 - Blu-ray Forum

Post # 93 pretty much says it all. Call 800-860-2878 or email to consumer@sphecustomersupport.sony.com to inquire about a replacement disc.

Unfortunately the replacement is on our dime....we have to mail the original back.

Personally, I think I'm going to wait until somebody on that forum gets theirs and confirms the fix before I send mine in. It would be a hell of a waste of time and money just to get a disc with the same problems.

I just received the replacement disc, and the repeating clip has been fixed. I can't say anything about the lip sync issues, because I never saw any (and I'm pretty picky about that stuff).
Zoloft and Paxil and Buspar and Xanex, Depacon, Chronaphin, Ambien, Prozac,
Ativan calms me when I see the bills.

I purchased "Starship Troopers" over the weekend, and the disc has the repeating frame. Called customer service and got my reference number.
Will be sending the disc today. Customer service said if everything goes smoothly, should have the correct one in 2 weeks. Hope they are right.

Mailed my disc out today. Being that I'm in Canada, it will probably take until the new year before I get mine.....of course I could be wrong.

Received my replacement copy 2 days ago and I also confirm that the repeating frame is gone. Nice of Sony to send a brand new, factory fresh copy instead of simply sending it in a paper sleeve. Now I can use the old case as an extra. Thanks Sony!
