DO NOT GO BACK TO THE APPLE STORE UNTIL THEY HAVE EITHER A BLURAY MacPro or the 3G IPHONE. STAY AWAY FROM THE LIGHT.

Ohhhh, shinies!

Ohhhh, shinies!

I have so far been successful at staying away from the iPhone until it has 3G support. Which should hopefully be in June.

As for waiting until the MacBook Pro had BluRay... I failed miserably!

I'm hoping when they DO come out with one, I'll be able to buy and OEM part and install it, most likely voiding my warranty, or buy a good small compact external. I guess the problem would be a display that doesn't support DCIM or whatever the copyright management thing is.

Re: Note to self

You can buy OEM BluRay drives for the MacPros, dont think theres one slim enough for the MBP yet tho. Of course it's the SOFTWARE thats the killer link here, I hope this June is VERY blu!

Re: Note to self

Haha I know what you mean. Every time I see the shinies in an Apple store the credit card starts wanting to jump out of the wallet.

Coincidentally, those are my two criterias as well for my next Apple purchase: 3G iPhone and BD drive built in to either a CTO iMac or Mac Pro.

Actually there's a third: if the Mac Minis get a nice bump, and HDMI output, I might spring for one as an entertainment hub in my living room. Something to store pics, iTunes and downloaded video/clips on, and watch on my 1080p TV, but more powerful and expandable than an AppleTV.

Re: Note to self

The new vesion of Toast supports Blu-ray I believe so that shouldn't be an issue.

Shinies Indeed

My only visit was in 06 to pick up a G5.
I did not look around. I just stood there until a young shirt asked if he could help. Yes, I'll take a G5.

We only have the Ultra version....OK.

Would you like - NO!
How about - NO! (louder)
Are You Sh - Yes, just the box, now let me outta here!

Poor guy. I was on a mission with 38 C notes.

I live and work 3-4 minutes up Peachtree from the Lenox store. I do not go there. I'm a big fan of Fedex and good ol' Brown. The drivers know me. They never try to sell me anything. I always offer coffee.
Sometimes the Fedex guy takes a cup

Hardware also -- there is no HDCP provision for Apple Cinema Display's or Mac video out.

Hopefully Display Port equipped Apple Cinema Displays & video cards will surface Real Soon Now.
Hold on tightly, let go lightly.
