How big do Dr. Merrill magnolias grow?

I've got a nice spot for a large bush/small tree with southern exposure. On impulse I got a 10 gal. "Dr. Merrill" magnolia from Costco - they only wanted $58 which is by far the cheapest I've seen such sized ones. It's trimmed as a multiple-small-trunk bush, not with a single tall trunk.

How big is this thing going to get? From on-line sources, it's either going to be 15 ft. tall OR 50 ft. tall. None of the nursery sites match one anothers data. Can I realistically keep it pruned to about 15 ft. wide by 25 ft. tall?

i don't know why you couldnt keep it trimmed at whatever height and size you want.

i have a magnolia in a pot that i keep indoors during cold weather and front yard during warm.

when in the house one flower can freshen up the air in the room it is in.

No way you're going to get a magnolia to grow to 50 ft in Idaho, & anyway it wouldn't do that in Texas in bush form. But you should be able to keep it pruned to any conformation you please, assuming it lives.
