The Signal gets a BD release

Now, understand, I like The Signal. I saw it at a festival last summer and gave it a pretty good review. And I try not to be one of the people that claims only eye-candy deserves an HD release.

Still... It seems like it's been a while since the last Magnolia release on Blu-ray (I don't think there's been anything since The Host), and this murky film is the one they come back with? When they've got stuff like Tears of the Black Tiger, Dynamite Warrior, Redacted and even Yo-yo Girl Cop (which got an HD-DVD release in Japan) is just sitting around?

Hopefully BD getting more market penetration means they'll be releasing more day-and-date with the standard DVD and maybe pulling stuff out of their back catalog. Especially Tears. That's gorgeous. Still, of all the movies Magnolia/Magnet has distributed in the last year, The Signal seems an odd choice.
