"Stranglehold" (PS3 CE - includes Hard Boiled)

Does anyone have this?:
Amazon.com: Stranglehold Collector's Edition (Includes Hard Boiled): Video Games

I´m interested of getting it, since it should have the BD-version of "Hard Boiled AKA Lat sau san taam (1992)". And since it has a game also...

Based on this ( DVD Talk Forum - Hard Boiled BD (Stranglehold:Collector's Edition PS3); 2 Thumbs... way down! ), it´s in 1080i and.. "with a picture image that looks at best like an upconverted Standard DVD, rather than a fully remastered transfer in HD". Audio seems to have some issues also... No extras.

Level Up : Exclusive: Midway's Steve Allison Gives Level Up the Backstory on Adding 'Hard Boiled' to the Playstation 3 Special Edition of Stranglehold--and Explains Why the Movie Will Only Play on PS3s

"We used the master digital tape from the film print and then ourselves converted it to support all HD resolutions, including 1080p. It's really the storage capacity of Blu-Ray that makes this pairing possible, and it's still a compelling product."

So: Is this just a crappy transfer?

I had heard that this was just an NTSC version of the film that had been up converted.

I have it. I haven't watched the movie yet, but the game is awesome. If you like John Woo movies, it's totally worth playing. It's a pretty straightforward shoot-em-up; nothing too complicated. The levels are really fun, with tons of stuff to blast into little bitty pieces. Very bloody too.

I watched a couple of minutes of the movie just to make sure it was working. IIRC it wasn't great, but it didn't look as bad as some people are making it out to be. It seems to just be an HD version of the same transfer used for the Dragon Dynasty DVD. Apparently the image is very slightly cropped, but it wasn't too noticeable when I looked at it.

I paid something like $22 for it, which IMO was a steal.

Thanks Aaron. I liked e.g. "Max Payne"-games. Similar?

Where where? Yes, I don´t have plans to pay $50-60 to get this, but 20-30$ is just fine.

I haven't played Max Payne (I think I own the PC version though -- just never got around to it), but I hear it's very similar.

I bought it from an Amazon Seller. Assuming the shipping costs to Finland aren't too bad, check there. The prices vary from day to day, so just keep checking until you see a figure you like.
