First time poster here. I'm just beginning my foray into the world of home a/v, and am setting up a surround system for a small 1bdr apartment. My budget is pretty limited so bear with me please. My basic requirements are a minimum of 2 HDMI inputs, 1.3 capability, ipod compatibility, and a total price of under $1000. I have a two part question regarding my upcoming purchase of a home surround sound setup:
1) Please give me an opinion on the JBL CS480BG 5.1 speaker set. I like the price on Amazon, but I can't find them at a local shop to listen.
2) Assuming the speakers are serviceable for a small area, please give me an opinion on which receiver to match with the speakers. In my research so far, I like the Onkyo 605, or the Yamaha RX-V663.
Feel free to ask me questions. I'm not an experienced poster, so I may have left important information out.
