Hello to all

Which Blu ray's are OOP and how can I find this out?

Can my BD player play imports? I have the Sony S-300.

Thanks, Beau

Re: Question on OOP and Import Blu ray's

Are any Blu-rays out of print yet? I don't think the format's been around long enough! :-D

I have the Sony BDP-S300, and YES it will play imports. Just make sure the disc in question has english subtitles (if it's a foreign film). I have Tartan's SEVENTH SEAL Blu-ray (region 2) and the player has no problems with it (nor does my new Sony PS3).

OOP titles? The only one I can think of is the first release of The Fifth Element (you don't want it).

Re: Question on OOP and Import Blu ray's

I suppose technically all the Paramount Blu-ray titles are OOP until they resume releasing on the format. Shooter on Blu-ray Disc is the one that tends to command the most money on the secondary market, but none of Paramount's BD are terribly difficult to find; nor would I recommend paying an arm and a leg for them considering they will most likely be back in circulation shortly.

T3 is not out-of-print, unless you want the incorrectly encoded 1080i version. The 1080p version can be found readily on Amazon here:

Amazon.com: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines [Blu-ray]: David Andrews,Earl Boen,M.C. Gainey,Moira Harris,Christopher Lawford,Billy Lucas,Larry McCormick,Susan Merson,Elizabeth Morehead,Michael Papajohn,Kim Robillard,Nick Stahl,Arnold Schwarzenegger

As for imports, as long as the disc is not region coded it should play in your player. To check whether or not a Blu-ray Disc is region coded, you may find the following site of use:

Re: Question on OOP and Import Blu ray's

I believe other than the Paramount titles, the only OOP titles are the original releases of The Fifth Element and Full Metal Jacket, both of which were replaced by superior versions.
