I guess it's all relative. The Miley Cyrus song on my iPod is a guilty pleasure to me-- 38 year old male. It wouldn't be to a 12 year old girl.

Ha! Eilert Pilarm's cover of "Jailhouse Rock." Eilert is the Swedish Elvis. Imagine an overweight Swedish guy singing "Went to a party at the county yale," with absolutely no sense of timing. Fun!

I have a lot of stuff that some might consider weird on my mp3...

The opening title music from Buffy the Vampire Slayer by Nerf Herder.

The opening title music from Angel.

The opening title music from Friday Night Lights by Snuffy Walden.

The opening title music from Sledge Hammer!.

The entire sountrack to Halloween (John Carpenter's original of course).

The opening title music from Halloween II complete with proceeding dialogue from Dr. Loomis..."You don't know what death is.".

Our Love Lives On by Joe Cocker from the closing credits to Harry and the Hendersons. It's a good natured song with a nice message.

As for "normal" guilty pleasures lol...

The Backstreet Boys The Shape of my Heart and Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.

All 4 One I Swear and I Can Love You Like That.

Boyz 2 Men. Quite a few, those guys can sing what can I say?

Britney Spears Sometimes

Lionel Richie Hello? and Dancing on the Cieling Hey, it's catchy.

Whitesnake Is This Love? and Here I Go Again.

Richard Marx. Pretty much his entire catalogue. Yep, pretty much worshipped at the alter of the Mullet king of the 80's lol.

Michael Bolton How Am I Supposed to Live Without You? The original radio version, not the screwed up one that appeared on his album because that would be, ya know, crazy.

Danny Wilson Mary's Prayer mostly becuase I liked it's use in There's Something About Mary.

All of the above I can see as a "guilty pleasure" with the exception of this one. It is a great song that doesn't seem to belong on a guilty pleasure list.

It's an 80's staple, so I'd imagine most of us with 80's music might have it. I do (along with "Together Forever" and several other RA 80's hits).

I'm a huge 80's music fan as those were my formative music years (I was 11 in 1980 and 20 in 1989) and I don't have it. Gotta draw the line somewhere...

Exactly the same, i.e. I'm the same age, I'm an 80's music fan, and no I don't have any Rick Astley on my iPod. I do have Bananarama, though...

Anyone ever notice how many 80's songs are persecuted merely because they're from the 80's?

That VH1 list they did a couple of years ago of the worst songs ever contained a lot of 80's songs. It felt like they were choosing those songs because of the era not necessarily because they were bad songs, by that rational when they update that list 20 years from now I want to see some Puff Daddy and Nelly on that list lol.

Well said. Off the top of my head, Kelis's Milkshake and Crystal Waters's Gypsy Woman are far worse than anything that came out of the 80s.

Also, a lot of 80s pop doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Sure, it wasn't 'classic' stuff in the sense of being 'deep' insofar as the lyrics were concerned, but some were very well-crafted pop songs, with great melodies, and that kind of effort doesn't seem to be put into anything anymore. Again, off the top of my head, what today could compare to Hungry Like The Wolf, Save A Prayer, True or Through The Barricades? (yes, I'm a Spandau and Duran fan -- note "am", not "was")
