Speaker stands or mounts for rear speakers

I originally planned on wall mounting my rear speakers but due to the shape of my room, I think they will be better on pedestals. I could probably ceiling mount them if there aren't any good stand options though. I've looked at a few department stores for stands (I don't have any dedicated HT stores nearby) and they only carry ones for small speakers (2-4 pounds they say). I'm not sure what my speakers weigh, but I'd guess it's more like 20-25 pounds. They are pretty nice Paradigms (I can't tell you the model or exact size off the top of my head since I'm at work but I think they are about 18 inches high and maybe 8-10 inches wide).

Can someone recommend a good set of stands or ceiling mounts that will support heavier speakers?

Thanks!

Re: Speaker stands or mounts for rear speakers

I've recently been looking for some tall stands for rears as well. These are currently at the top of my list:

Although at $200 street price, I'm considering just building my own stands out of MDF instead.
Some other options you might be interested in:

Hope this helps,

Re: Speaker stands or mounts for rear speakers

Take a look at the high mass 24" stands at Parts-Express.com - Speakers, Speaker Building, Home Audio and Video, Pro Audio, Electronic Parts & Accessories part number 240-744. They are $110 and are quite hefty at 26lbs each, unfilled. Mine measure at ~26" with the included spilkes, and my speakers are 38lbs each.

This is what I did for my Paradigms. Check them out. They look very neat.
