onkyo sr505 vs. onkyo ht-sr800

hi everybody. i'm trying to decide which receiver to buy, and i've narrowed it down to two options: the onkyo sr505 standalone and the onkyo ht-sr800 home theater package. which do you think is a better idea? i only have a pair of wireless speakers presently, and i'm not sure yet if i'm going to get more wireless speakers or a wired speaker system to accompany the receiver.

here's another unrelated question - do you think it's worth it to spend the extra $150 on the onkyo sr-605? i don't need anything flashy, and i'm kind of confused about hdmi upconversion, so i can't really tell if i should get it or not. i know i sound like a complete idiot, but i'm an a/v newbie. help!

thanks for your time and assistance!

Re: onkyo sr505 vs. onkyo ht-sr800

I just purchased th Sr 605 last month and it was the best thing I did. The HDMI inputs make it so easy to hook up your HD equipment for the best sound and picture possible. Spend the extra $ and you will get a lot more out of your system.
