Balanced VS RCA

I need some input on this issue. I'm getting ready to purchase the Integra DTC-9.8 Pre-amp. The amp I'll use is a B & K Reference 200.7 S2. What would be the benefit of using the balanced (XLR) inputs VS the RCA inputs?

Re: Balanced VS RCA

It is likely that none of your (consumer grade) equipment will have balanced outputs, so there will be no benefit whatsoever. These days, even most "pro" gear does not use true balanced line signals - they fake it with one grounded line and one that is at twice the signal level of an unbalanced signal.

Balance: Benefit or Bluff? (Stereophile)

It's possible to construct a DAC to output a true balanced signal. I have no idea if the Onkyo is designed this way.
