The Beast(La Bete)

Um...... I'm very liberal and you have to go a long way to shock me.

I have to say that this is the first time I've been rendered literally speechless after viewing a film. I actually feel like this is something that I shouldn't have been watching.

This is a whole different trip than Disney's Beauty and The Beast. That is for sure. LOL!!!

Re: The Beast(La Bete)

I had high hopes for the movie but it really let me down to the point where I'd call it awful. The sexual nature of the film really didn't shock me since I've seen countless films like this from Franco, Rollin and D'Amato. What did shock me was how ugly the film is. I'm really not sure what the point was except for the director to show ugly scenes. The opening stuff with the horses comes to mind but this scene served no purpose at all. D'Amato had done things with horses before in his Emanuelle films but again, it is just there for shock value.

I know there's a big cult surrounding the film but I don't see the sppeal.

Re: The Beast(La Bete)

You talking about the 1975 movie?

They flutter behind you, your possible pasts.
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.

Re: The Beast(La Bete)

Yes.

That would be the 1975 version.
