Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
In the animated Star Trek episode, The Counter-Clock Incident, there are at least 2 references to TOS, aside from the appearance of Robert April. Though April was never an actual character in TOS, he was the original captain's name in an early draft of The Cage script.Name the 2 and I think 3rd reference to TOS. A hint; these references refer to specific incidents in TOS episodes. Not sure if this is an easy one!

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Okay, The Counter Clock Incident, the one with April, had the enterprise at Beta Niobe. Thats a star that went nova during the episode All Our Yesterdays. More Tribbles, More Troubles had both Capt. Koloth, and Cryano Jones from The Trouble with Tribbles, and they talked about events of that episode. Mudd's Passion had Harry Mudd. They went to the shore leave planet again. They talked about the Eugenics Wars in an episode. We saw Spock's "teddy bear" in Yesteryear. Wow, lots of TOS related episodes in TAS, thats just off the top of my head.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Wow! Rick takes the cake. You are correct, but I wasn't clear enough in my question. I was only referring to the 3 references within The Counter-Clock Incident that are direct references to TOS episodes.
Beta Niobe was one.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
You know, the one thing i hated about Counter Clock Incident, and i hated this when i was 10...it should take 35 years for a 35 year old man to become a baby again, even if he is growing younger. Not a few hours, or weeks.I'm thinking of the other two...

I may have the other two TOS references.
1) Babel is mentioned (Journey to Babel).
and
2) Beta Niobe (from All Our Yesterdays). This is the star that went nova, I believe.
Is this close, or are you looking for some other TOS tie-in?

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Wow, it's been so long, I forgot! Babel was mentioned as they were taking Commodore April there. And yes, Beta Niobe is the other one. So you and Rick got it.The other connections are a flower that Mrs. April has which is from Capella 4, (A Private Little War). It dies, but comes back to life as they all grow younger. There is also mention of the Minara Star that went nova in THe Empath. The Enterprise goes there as a place that can lead them back to their universe.
Robert April is said to have been at the San Francisco Shipyards when the Enterprise was built. Probably won't be mentioned in the new movie!

Great!
I will post one in a few minutes. But first, I think Capella IV is from Friday's Child, isn't it? I don't think the name of the planet seen in A Private Little War is actually mentioned. (BTW, coincidentally, I watched A Private Little War last night!)

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Okay, next:Name the titles of at least two episodes of Trek in which we hear of Berthold rays. More than one series is involved in this answer.

Scott, are you cheating, or did you just skip my post from 3 weeks ago?

Huh, what, where, when...who's on first!I am totally lost.
I got one for you, and i dont even know the answer. Id have to look it up. But i remember one TNG where the crew tapped the communicator to "turn it off", after they were done talking to the person on the other end. Its the only time i remember seeing them do it. Anyone know the episode?

That's a neat question. I will watch all 175 or so episodes tonight and let you know.

Seriously, I have no idea. Maybe it was one of the earlier episodes-- The Battle, or Where No One Has Gone Before?
In any event, "I'll bet you credits to Navy beans that I'll be watching for that scene from now on."

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
My guess for the episode those 2 pics came from This Side of Paradise. No Scott, i dont have a clue what TNG ep. has the crew tapping the communicator to turn it off. I need to Google it or something.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Oh, I thought the images are from two separate episodes. If they are from the same episode, my guess is it's Wink of An Eye.

Please let us know if/when you find out. That's a great question--one that might stump people at a Trek convention.

I'm just happy that it's somewhat challenging!

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
That is a tough one Scott! I think I know the shot of the chronometer, but I can't place the episode yet. I might have to cheat and watch some episodes to find it!The clues from the shot of Kirk in the entrance of the Rec room looked like a clue, but I was wrong!

Yeah, when I see the 3-D chess board, only a handful of episodes come to mind. To be honest, the answer to the question isn't one of the ones I would normally associate with the chess board.
Here is a hint, but only if you want to look:

Ahhhhhh...i got it!Its The Mark of Gideon! I win!
11/25/08 at 7:27pm
Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
That sounds plausible, I was thinking it had to an episode where the crew was missing from the ship.

You're next.

Thats what i was thinking too.
I had to look Scott. Sad i knew those were the transporter settings to the Gideon Council Chamber. Almost as sad as you knowing them! That could have been a question itself.
I have to get up in 3 hours to go to work...cant sleep. Anyway, i have an easy one. Has Kirk ever been married?

I didn't know them. I looked it up in a transcript and then posted it as a hint in the spoiler.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
That question if Kirk was married sounded like a trick question. I thought it was no too. But I wondered though if Antonia was his wife in the Nexus. Those transporter coordinates, darn, I knew they sounded familiar! I don't watch The Mark of Gideon very often either!

Just a heads up. This question has not been answered yet:Name the titles of at least two episodes of Trek in which we hear of Berthold rays. More than one series is involved in this answer.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Scott-I almost forgot! I had to do some research as I mistakenly thought that Berthold Rays were mentioned in the Enterprise episode, Terra Nova. But it was something else.
Of course the first we hear of Berthold Rays is "This Side of Paradise". The crew discovers that a plant spore protects the colonists on the planet from the lethal Berthold Rays. And had the infamous blooper, The plants act as a suppository.
The second time we hear of Berthold Rays was in The Next Gen "Deja Q". Calamarain probes emissions include a non lethal amount of Berthold Rays. I had to look the second one up, so I cheated.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Kirk getting married, yep it was a trick question, and Nelson had a good answer. But i was thinking of the time he was married to Miramani (sp?). The episode was, The Paradise Syndrome. He was the tribal priest, so he got the girl, even had a ceremony.

Yes, of course you're right about that. I forgot about The Paradise Syndrome.
Either you or Nelson may go next.

Re: Star Trek Trivia (Series and Films)
Happy Thanksgiving, all.I thought I would post a very short and sweet trivia question, even though it's not technically my turn. I would appreciate a little bit of latitude.

Question: Why am I posting the following images, all from the very same episode? There is only one logical answer, other than the fact that I love all things Trek.
