Looking for Speakers

I currently have a Sony Mini Hi Fi Component System in my workout room which I use for music and its hooked up to the tv when I'm running on the treadmill. The tvs speakers aren't loud enough when on the treadmill. The system has two external speakers and the manual says the power consumption is 130 watts.
I'm in the process of finishing my basement and I'm looking for some in-ceiling mounted speakers.
This will serve the purpose of being closer to the treadmill, sound pointing down to reduce noise upstairs and better sound distribution to the room.
I'm looking for some suggestions on speakers, how many I can use and how many I may need. The room is about 15' x 12'. I still have the manual so I should be able to answer any technical questions. I am looking for some mid priced speakers as quality of sound isn't a huge priority.
I am also putting Roxul Safe and Sound insulation in the ceiling to help dampen sound as I am also building a home theatre.

Thank you for your help

Re: Looking for Speakers

Can you clarify, are you looking for external speakers to mount to the ceiling or in-ceiling? What do you consider mid price ($)?

Re: Looking for Speakers

Yes I am looking for in-ceiling speakers and maybe more like mid quality and whatever that price would be.

Thanks

I used to have these in my ceiling at my old house. They are Definitive Technologies bi-polar design and through in two different directions. If you are just trying to getting better sound distribution, these could be placed towards the center of the room and would throw in either direction so you would here them no matter where you were.

Bipolar In-Wall & In-Ceiling Speakers

You may also want to take a look at their standard line of in-walls/clgs also. They have just about every type and style you may want based upon what you are trying to do. I am currently using their UIW-65 in my HT room but if you are just wanting additional sound, their UIW-55 or UIW-63/A may do the trick.

I think Best Buy's Magnolia Home Theater section in the stores carries Definitive so if your local Best Buy has a Home Theater section, you may be able to go there and listen to them.

Good Luck on your choice.
