Composer, two-time Oscar winner (Barry Lyndon, Bound For Glory) and numerous nominations. I played his closing credits music for Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home as the recessional at my wedding in October of 1998.

Re: R.I.P - Leonard Rosenman
Yep saw the news yesterday. Sad, another great film composer has left us. One of my favorite of his scores was for Ralph Bakshi's animated Lord of the Rings. I have that on LP and CD. His Star Trek IV Voyage Home music was enjoyable even if it was one of the weaker Star Trek scores. Fantastic Voyage is another favorite.
RIP

Steve--I recently watched Bakshi's LOTR for the first time in probably 20 years. Have you noticed how Rosenman borrowed heavily from himself to score Star Trek IV?

Yep and he got an Oscar nomination to boot! Even his score to Robocop 2 had bits of LOTR in there. Oh well film composers have been doing that for decades, from Max Steiner to James Horner.
