need advice on a fixed frame screen

I will be purchasing the Sony VW40 FP. It will be placed on a shelf on the rear wall appr. 15.5 ft away from screen. This is a very dark room but I'm concerned about which numbered gain I should get on a 92 inch fixed frame. Any advice would be beneficial, thanks.

Re: need advice on a fixed frame screen

I built my screen with plain, white blackout cloth for Hancock Fabrics. Other fabric stores around the nation sell the exact same thing. In a totally dark room the screen is more than bright enough using a Panasonic AE-900U. I plan on experimenting with paint formulas. Specifically the Black Widow formula.

Re: need advice on a fixed frame screen

A fixed frame screen is exactly the look I want for my ht. I'm just not sure what gain is appropriate considering my situation.

Sony VW40

Throw-15.5 ft

rear wall shelf

light controlled room

I hear a high gain grey is good for DLP but this is Lcos and I can't seem to find info on what screen gain goes good with this projector and my set-up.

Re: need advice on a fixed frame screen

That is a technical question best answered in the Display and Projector section.
