I remember that last summer, Warner mentioned 'Amadeus' and 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' as coming early in '08. God only knows when we'll see those, with the complete reshuffling of the HDM deck.

It's a new collection of Batman anime shorts, which are said to take place in between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

I know I've waited this long for Shawshank in HD, but knowing that I have to wait another 9 months sucks! If the HDNet Movies presentation is any indication though, it should be worth the wait."Music is a magic carpet loaded with oils and other soothing potions, it's just what you need when you don't know what you need, when you've got more questions than answers." - Bob Lefsetz

I'll pick up Shawshank, but November? A bit early for an announcement I'd say.I can't believe they're putting out the turd that is The Devil's Own. Good catalog titles don't sell as much as the studios would like so why do they continue to bother with the bad ones? Do they sell better for some reason?

In a world where MEET THE SPARTANS debuted at a higher gross than RAMBO, and both of them outgrossed THERE WILL BE BLOOD, you have to ask that question?
I got a kick out of this part of the DEVIL'S OWN press statement: "expect all the extras from the previous DVD release to be ported to the Blu-ray." Wow, no way! You mean we get all the trailer?!

You'd almost think they'd have a better Harrison Ford title in their catalog to "piggyback on".But I suppose they don't since Blade Runner and The Fugitive are already out and I doubt The Mosquito Coast or Frantic would sell many copies since it doesn't co-star Brad Pitt.

My bad. Seeing as how this was lumped in with two other Warner titles, I assumed it was Warner. I guess it shows my lack of enthusiasm since I didn't care enough to open the link.Re: New BD title announcements: Devil's Own, Shawshank Redemption, Batman: Gotham Kni

Yeah, I sold my AMADEUS DVD when I heard the high def release was coming early this year. I hope it comes out soon.

That is exactly right, Sam. Shawshank is a film for the ages. That is a BD double-dip I won't even think twice about.
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Shawshank 12/2DVD Times - The Shawshank Redemption (US BD) in December
love the movie, don't care for the book style packaging
Re: New BD title announcements: Devil's Own, Shawshank Redemption, Batman: Gotham Knight
Nice to finally see some confirmation on this. I had this preordered from the WHV online store a long while back -- and IIRC, it wasn't expected to be a book style version at the higher price.I have mixed feelings about this book style packaging myself, but if WHV honors my preorder price (as expected), then I at least won't be paying extra for it.
