(I went to brazil on a Mission Trip this past October, and that did a little number on my Bank Account, No Regrets!
) Anyhow if anyone here has never seen a Total Solar Eclipse I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to see one. I have been fortunate enough to see two of these events, both from Cruise Ships, in 1991 and 1998. They are a Sight to behold, as it gets gets about as dark as Twilight when Totality occurs. The sight of the Corona emerging from behind the Moon has to be something you have to see to believe! There are things that Photos/Video DO NOT Pick up! It you have a Telescope you can also see the Prominences that erupt from the Sun's Surface, During the 1998 Eclipse they looked like a bunch of pink Horseshoes stuck to a large black Beach Ball! (During Totality it is safe to look at the Sun, during all other phases you'll need to use special filters or use a "Shadowbox" (A Box with a Pinhole on one end and a Peice of white Paper on the other end to project the Sun's Image.) I also saw an Annular Eclipse in 1994, This is an Eclipse where the Moon is too far away to Completely Cover the Sun, during mideeclipse the Sun emerges as a ring behind the Moon, though not as Spectacular as a Total Eclipse they are fun to watch! (I read that a Child
