They're matching Best Buy's price for this week. Same for Amadeus ($14.99), and probably for anything else BB has marked down.

Thanks for the tip. Just picked up that, and when I noticed The Adventures of Robin Hood at $11.99, popped that in, too. Been waiting for deals on both.

Re: Consolidated HD Bargain Thread!

Amazon also has Ghostbusters in their Gold Box deal today for ~$18. Good time to combine that w/ one of the $5 coupons out there (eg. sonypic5) to go w/ whatever else of interest (to get free shipping).

That's a great price on 2001.  It is one of the few BDs i haven't seen come down too often from it's original price--unlike The Shining or Clockwork Orange.

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Posts to this thread are becoming fewer and fewer it seems.

I wonder if deals are becoming more prevalent (making posts here seem less necessary/urgent).  Or, I wonder if there are fewer great deals to be had on a regular basis.

I've seen fewer sales that I would consider deals.  However Amazon does have the Matrix Complete Collection as their DotD for $57.99 (55% off)

I think it's because there are fewer real deals out there.  Usually I start looking forward to black friay in October.  Due to the lack of deals lately I'm starting to look forward to it now.

Barnes & Noble is currently having a sale with 50% off select Criterion Blu-ray/DVD titles.  Combine with 15% discount (off one item) coupon code H7K9W4P for more savings.

Example: The Third Man for $19.99 ($17.99 for B&N Members) - 15% = $16.99 ($15.29) + sales tax & shipping (if applicable) versus $24.99 on Amazon.

I can confirm that it's in stores. I just picked up Benjamin Button and Wages of Fear on BD at the new B&N near me for $20 each. Because the store is new, they're offering 20% off one item during July, which brought BB down to $16.

I got a 40% off e-mail coupon today, good through tomorrow. I had been wanting to buy "A Bugs Life", so I went online to see what regular price was..... $46!

They are insane. Even at 40% off, that only undercuts BB's regular everyday price by less than $1.

No thanks.

Current BD sales at J&R:

This promo seems to offer some of the best prices I've seen around for these titles (and I picked up a few myself at the retail store).  They are mostly special interest type titles (like IMAX/discovery channel fare, concerts, etc) mixed w/ some moderately obscure flicks (and seemingly Sarah Michelle Geller's entire BD catalog ):

http://www.jr.com/promotion/listContent.jsp?promoName=SelectBlurayDiscsOnSale

This one's for their all-Sony sale (w/ lots of titles at $14.99, including Glory, Winged Migration, etc):

http://www.jr.com/category/movies/n/4294428106-4294826035/sort-by-salePrice-0/

Shipping cost runs $3 for first title and $1 for each additional title, so depending on what you want, it might be worthwhile.

I can't speak to this particular title but I've found a number of discs that are listed above the MSRP on Borders' site but are the regular MSRP in store. So you may be able to get it for $24 if you go into the store.

Wow, Michael.  It looks to me like there are some really good deals in that group.  2001 for $10.99 and V for Vendetta for $11.49.  Those are fairly unusual low prices for those two titles (more so for 2001).  And I haven't even got off the first page of 11!

Edit**  The Adventures of Robin Hood, Wild Bunch and Dirty Dozen are also included among the $11.49 titles.  (That's on Page 2.  I'll stop now. )

Edit**  Okay.  One last thing.  They list the first release of Casino Royale in that sale for $21.99.  As I was stumbling around, however, I noted that amazon has the 2-disc CE of Casino Royale on blu currently listed for $13.99.
