All:
I know this sounds lame, but I just recently learned that M&K Sound filed chapter 7 last Feb '07. I had one last speaker to purchase to complete my 5.1 sound system (center speaker) but for reasons I won't go into here I kept putting off the purchase. Now I am ready to buy, but it seems M&K-U.S. is gone for the foreseable future. At any rate, now I am in the hunt for a M&K LCR 750 THX center-channel speaker. Short of that, I am looking for recommendations from audiophiles and/or home theatre-philes as to what speakers would be compatible with my LCR 750 THX left and right speakers, MK-75 sub and MK-55 tripole left and right surrounds. If you own an M&K system I would be interested in hearing what speaker purchases you have made, if any, since the close of M&K. If you know of any retail outlet where backstock of 'official' M&K backstock or overstock can be purchased, I would be interested in hearing from you. I don't think I would be interested in any M&K knock-off (licensed or not) that was made overseas. In the meantime I have been told by the folks at my favorite audio store to look at Canton 250 or Definitive Technologies Mekos7 as a suitable alternate.
Any replies/opinions will be appreciated.
