Lightsabre tops list of Movie Weapon Poll

1. Lightsabre (Star Wars)
2. .44 Magnum (Dirty Harry)
3. Bullwhip (Indiana Jones)
4. Samurai sword (Kill Bill)
5. Chainsaw (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
6. Golden Gun (James Bond - The Man With The Golden Gun)
7. Bow and arrow (Robin Hood)
8. Machine gun (Scarface)
9. The Death Star (Star Wars)
10. Bowler hat (James Bond - Goldfinger)



That's a pretty lame list, with some ridculous items. First of all it seems a criteria was not specified (Death Star? - not a portable piece of hardware).

First, I would replace the chainsaw with the badass one used by Ash from Evil Dead 2. I would toss out the whip, bow & arrow (a cross-bow would have been ideal), bowler hat, golden gun and even the iconic .44 Mag.

The sword is not a bad choice as you could include any other type such as Aragorn's Anduril from Lord Of the Rings. For a handgun I'd put the Walther PPK (James Bond) which is more practical than the golden gun which only shoots one bullet.

There are far more creative and cooler weapons. Here are some items I would add:

1. Minigun ('Ol' Painless') (Predator)
2. Proton Packs (Ghostbusters)
3. Rail Gun (Eraser)
4. The Glaive (Krull)
5. Nunchucks. (Any Bruce Lee movie)
6. ZF1 (The 5th Element)
7. Flying discs (Predator)
8. Berretta 92 series (Equilibrium & Underworld)
9. M56 Smart Guns/Pulse Rifles (Aliens)
10. Daggers (V for Vendetta)
11. Bone Gun (ExistenZ)
12. Chuck Norris fists

I agree with 1-3, but beyond that it's wide open.

I always thought the heat seeking bullets Gene Simmons used in "Runaway" were cool. Not to mention the mechanical acid injecting spiders. Come to think of it, why the samurai sword from Kill Bill? So, many films have used the samurai sword. Why not Connor MacLeod's samurai sword from Highlander? That's a far better testimate to it than Kill Bill. That list is very questionable in some spots.
