Re: Guns of Naverone

I had the single-disc edition and wasn't impressed by the video quality. For what it's worth.

Re: Guns of Naverone

All are flawed but the 2007 CE is the best of the bunch:

Re: Guns of Naverone

I've owned all versions of this great movie on dvd and in my opinion the Japanese 2 disc Superbit has the best picture quality:
Movie / THE GUNS OF NAVARONE (Superbit DTS)

This movie has never had good pq on DVD.
Let's hope for a Lowry clean up for the oncoming Blu-Ray release.

Cheers

Re: Guns of Naverone

I've seen an HD TV broadcast of the film (in the UK) which looked far better than any of the DVDs. The Blu-ray version should look very good.

Re: Guns of Naverone

I watched the superbit (region 1) of this the other night and as the reviewer that Maggi pointed us to said :

"I did notice a flickery quality in the film’s early moments, though."

I noticed this at different moments throughout the film. I was wondering the same thing, is the new edition was better than the superbit I have?
