Klipsch RF-10 home theater (or) Paradigm Cinema 110 6 speaker

Hi Guys,

I am new to this Forum and the HT world. With the help of you guys I want to decide between the Klipsch RF-10 and the Paradigm Cinema 110 speaker systems.

I was at 6th Avenue last Friday and the guy told me that they don't sell Klipsch and would not recommend it as it is too "tinny". He then told for that price range he would recommend the Paradigm Cinema 110 series along with a Yamaha receiver. He advised that Paradigm speakers are good in the mid-range whereas the Yamaha receiver is a little bit on the tinny side so there would be a balance.

I am not sure how to decide (I really like the Klipsch even though the RF-10 is at the entry level). So I am here looking for your advice/inputs.

P.S: My budget for the speakers is $1300.

Thanks in advance

Speakers are really up to your personal taste. Beyond that, you can rarely if ever trust the comments from an audio sales(goon), particularly at a place like 6th Ave. My personal observations are that Klipsch do tent to be brighter ("tinny" is just trying to make it sound like a universal negative) but they are also more sensitive, which means they require less power. I personally tend to like the sound of Paradigm more, but that is just me.

Just don't let anyone, least of all an audiomart salesperson, tell you what you like.

They flutter behind you, your possible pasts.
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.

Thank you John. I will continue on my research and decide in the next few weeks. I will update this thread if I come across any findings during this process.
