Magnepan still in business?

I hope Magnepan hasn't gone out of business!

I plan to upgrade to an MGCC3 center channel this year, but when I went to their Web site this morning, it was completely down. The main page is blank, and old stored links from Google cached pages don't work.

Anyone know if something's going on with Magnepan?

Now the site pulls up for me. Someone must just have been doing maintenance.

With all the changes going on in the A/V industry I hope that Magnepan will keep on going strong. Some of their products are outrageously good for the asking price, enough to make me wonder if they can turn a profit.

The most expensive part of a speaker is the cabinet and enclosure. Other high end companies must carefully build an enclosure that does not resonate/impart sonic qualities to what the speaker reproduces and then finish it. They also usually weigh more with an enclosure and it costs more to ship.

Well, they were at CES last week, which is hard to do if a company no longer exists.
