Polk Audio FXiA6 used as front speakers?

I am thinking to use the Polk Audio FXiA6 as front speakers, but then I was told that it will sound bad, because it is designed to be for rear speakers, and it has a different cross over level. I am totally newbie in this, so, would like to get a second opinion.

And what other book shelf speakers will you recommend?

Surround speakers such as those were recommended by THX in the early days, because they produced a diffuse, nonlocalizable sound, ideal for ambiance.

Front speakers need to have a bit of focus. Otherwise, you won't get proper stereo imaging.

What he said. Bi/dipole speakers that are designed to be side/rear surrounds aren't going to work well for front speakers. RTi-A3 or RTi-6 would be bookshelf surrounds from Polk, but there are a ton of them in the price range.

They've already gone back, so no new comments on them
