Problem: muted sound from left main speaker in all surround-sound modes, no sound from speaker in stereo mode. problem just noticed three days ago.

tried: swapped speakers, no change. ran new wire, no change. tried reading owner's manual, main speakers set to large, no joy. (all the rest of the speakers work). checked balance, set to mid-scale (balanced). removed all connections & sprayed out receiver w/ contact cleaner, no help. reconnected system, same result.

Any help? anybody?

Bueller?

thanks, rip

Re: Yamaha RX-V530 question

What about stereo mode- 2 channel. May be the left amp has gone bad. If you have moved speakers, wires and the set-up is correct...I dont see much left but a bad channel. I had that happen to a standard Pio AV reciever I had... about 2 months after warranty went out.

Maybe you have a friend you can borrow a reciever to check this out? I have @ 4AV recieivers at the house...so I have that luxury of swaping to trouble shoot.

So far, So good, So what
