The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Wow, it's been four years already? I was just reading David Lambert's latest article and thinking how he used to the roundup, but I had no idea it was that long ago.

Frankly, Todd, I wish I had more time for movie watching. My queue of unwatched titles just gets longer and longer all the time. I wish I didn't have to work! I've heard good things about being independently wealthy!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 1-8-2008

Put me down for Lovejoy: Season 2 this week......I love that Ian McShane series. It's such a fun show to watch.

I'll be picking up the BD's of Sunshine, 3:10 to Yuma, The Rock and Con-Air sometime in the future.....need to save up for those damn Christmas bills.

Great job Mike for four years of work on this recurring thread. Maybe you could start your own TV on DVD website and........oh........that's been done.
Recently watched- The Mummy(1999)[BD], The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe[BD], You Don't Mess With The Zohan[BD], Patriot Games, Groundhog Day[BD]

Currently watching- Heroes: Season 1[BD], SNL 1976-1977: Season 2, Rome: The Complete Series[BD]

Anybody think Sunshine is worth a blind buy?
How about 3:10 to Yuma?

As always, thanks for the round-up!

PS -- I got a sneak peek at the Best Buy ad a couple of days ago, and I could've sworn the SD Zodiac 2-disc SE was only 22.99. I could be wrong.

Can't wait to see Sunshine again... and again... and again... It's the reason I finally caved and got Blu-Ray. Now, if only they'd release the film's soundtrack.

Also gonna grab Zodiac DC, and possibly 3:10 to Yuma (BD).

Thanks for the prices (as big a pain as they are this week)!

I have the ad in front of me and that is correct. Also, HD is listed for $29.99. Perhaps this is a price that Mike pulled off the BB Web site, rather than the flyer, when he was preparing the RoundUp.

Speaking of Zodiac, that is it for me this week. After reading the "rave" review of Sunshine in the new EW, I will give that a rental, but otherwise, 2008 is starting off kind of slow for me.

As always, thanks for the RoundUp, Mike and Patrick!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 1-8-2008

Thanks as usual.

Now that I've gone blu-ray, I am interested in some of the titles, but I need to first catch up on the ones previously released. So not immediately, but at some point:

Con Air
Man on Fire
The Rock

On dvd, I'm interested in The Cary Grant Collection, but will probably wait for blu-ray unless there's remarkable upgrade in pq on this new release.

Tony: When you look at it that way...too funny! If only I knew what I was getting myself into!

Chris: Excellent news about the Mail-In Rebate on those BDs of Con-Air, The Rock & Crimson Tide. VERY good to know!

And, thanks to Mark, Travis, Gary & Christopher for the correction on the BB price of the Zodiac SE!

Was in one of my local FYE (TransWorld) stores last night killing time while the wife was shopping elsewhere and found a copy of Home Run Derby: Vol. 2 marked down from $14.99 to $0.99!!! I figured it was mis-marked...but since I never got either volumes 2 or 3...I took it up to the register and asked the clerk if it was mis-marked and he scanned it and it came up at $0.99! Sold! Anyone else interested MAY want to give it a try at your local TransWorld store. There was a copy of HRD: Volume 1 there...but it only had the original $14.99 tag on it. Don't know how it would have scanned.

Also picked up a used BD of The Simpsons Movie!

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 1-8-2008

Picked up Super Friends on Friday (a local store had it out early) and 24 S6 today. I'm completely, utterly done for the week.

Mike, should we sing Happy Birthday or something?

Jason: A simple group hug and chorus of Kumbaya will suffice!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 1-8-2008

So glad BB has a competitive price for ZODIAC on HD-DVD. After waiting 2 weeks for my Amazon pre-order of HD-DVD BLADE RUNNER to arrive, I'm gonna hold off pre-orders for a while.

MarkBirds, I would not recommend SUNSHINE as a blind buy (though I'm sure it looks amazing in BD). I'm a fan of Boyle, Garland, the cast, the influences...and yet it didn't work for me. Definitely worth a watch, though.

Congratulations on your Anniversary, Mike, and many, many thanks for all you do!
