i know this may sound like a basic very simple question, but i need some advice nonetheless. I have a media pc which would be ideal to hook up to my home theatre system. the theatre system has a digital coax input, and my computer has the classic 3.5 output. How can I hook the two up. Here are pics just in case:

The computer (my output):

and heres the sound system:

Re: computer to digital coax

I think you're going to have to get a sound card for your computer, that has a digital coax output. If you're hoping to get surround sound from your computer, you will definitely have to get a sound card that supports surround sound. You can get one nowdays, that's not very expensive.
Good luck!

You may be able to find a cable that goes from a stereo mini jack, on one end, to an rca connector on the other. But you won't get real surround from that. You may be able to hear Pro Logic.
