NEED HELP... sound deadening

ok so here is the problem... I just installed a infinity in-wall system, and it is in a room that the other side of the wall goes out to the main hall in my house. My question is that i need to know what i can put in the walls that will deaden the sound and be with fire code.

thanks,

Re: NEED HELP... sound deadening

Deadening sound, especially bass, requires mass. There are drywall alternatives that are extra dense but most just put two layers of drywall with Green Glue between them.

If you are looking for something that you can slip into the hole you created for your speaker then don't bother. Everything you through that hole will be in vain and a waste of money.

Are these foam type sheets? If so, are they fire proof so you are not violating any building code. Also these foam sheets only lessen high frequencies. They do absolutely nothing for bass.

You don't have a top plate on the walls?
