The Biggest Loser is back, and this time it's couples. From best friends to mother and daughter to complete strangers, this could be very interesting!

I wonder where the other trainer from the last two seasons went?

I really enjoy the Biggest Loser, in my opinion it's the best concepted reality show.

Re: Biggest Loser - Season 5 - Couples

I am watching.

I have to record it though. I can't stand the way they draaaaaaaaag out the weigh-ins. I also think the show is much better when only an hour long. The two hour extended episodes are a little to long. The first episode is good at 2 hours, but the rest should be 1 hour.

Regarding last nights premier; I think the Green Team was the right choice to go home. The father was just hating being there and the daughter was the person who had the least amount of loss.

The guy on the yellow team is really coming across as a jerk. He sure stuck his foot in his mouth at the weigh-in. LOL

I felt so bad for the girl on the green team, because her father just didn't seem to care that this meant so much to her. As for the guy on the yellow team, yeah he did stick his foot in his mouth.

What was worse was having to see that guy in a speedo (at his current weight) in the video intro.

Also, too much whining and crying at the weigh-in.

Finally, on the Biggest Loser website on www.nbc.com they had a video interview with the couple that met and got married (Matt?). He has gained a lot of the weight back.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Re: Biggest Loser - Season 5 - Couples

Regarding Kim, the missing trainer, she has said that she had prior commitments and didn't have the time to take part this season. This may be because they rushed this latest season into production due to the writer's strike (though I'm not sure of that). Kim could still return in a later season.

I am so glad that Alli won as was crowned the first female loser on the show. She looked absolutely amazing (so did Kelly and Roger) and you can just tell she is happier and loves life even more than before.

Great show!

Re: Biggest Loser - Season 5 - Couples

yep, I was thrilled to see Ali win too. I didn't think it would be possible for a woman to win the show, and when she won, I cheered.

I think this is one of my favorite shows.

Did the guy from the yellow team show up at the season finale? Did I miss it? I didn't see him there, I may have to zip back through...

They said he had an illness and couldn't be there. I'm not sure what he's got, but he had something of that sort after he was voted off the show.

Re: Biggest Loser - Season 5 - Couples

I watched my first complete season of BL this year and quite enjoyed it. It was neat to see the first woman win -- I really didn't think it would happen given the simple physical differences between the men and women. I was also surprised that Bernie beat Mark for off-campus loser.

Does BL ever do a long-term followup, to see how former contestants are doing?

And a pity about Paul's pneumonia and also Kelli's back problems. They were interesting competitors and its sad to see such trauma further interfere with their goals and success.

Re: Biggest Loser - Season 5 - Couples

Allie looked like she put on some muscle, so she prob would have weighed even less if she hadnt.

5 - 8 pounds of muscle on a woman will make more of a difference appearancewise than it would on a male.

I dont usually like reality TV, but for some reason do like this show. All of these people were winners really as theyve all greatly improved their quality of life.

While other may have lost more % of weight, Marc's transformation in 15 weeks was really amazing.

I like this one because it's one of two shows that is about improving people's lives -- not about them tearing each other down to win cash.

Biggest Loser is an encouraging, uplifting show -- especially the later episodes when the weight loss becomes very apparent.
