I have an older Yamaha receiver that has no hdmi ports. I have my hdmi cable going directly to my Optoma HD front projector, and an optical cable into my receiver.
Question #1 - Is it worth the receiver upgrade to run audio also thru the hdmi so I can receive hd audio? How big of a difference is it?
Question #2 - When I set the DVD player to the 16:9 format, projector on any setting, I am unable to stretch the picture to fit my screen. However, when I set the DVD player to 4:3 format, my projector on 16:9, it fills the screen. What gives? Am I missing information by setting it at 4:3? Do I need to set it differently for each DVD, depending on format? Whew!
Sorry for so many qusetions, but thanks for the help!
