Hello, I hope someone can help. I did a search of this forum and couldn't really find any help. I also wasnt sure if this is more of a HT issue or TV issue. I am guessing it's the TV so that's why I posted it here. So here goes..
I have this Sony TV indicated, and I have a home theater system. Its a Panasonic that only has one audio input. They are the little red/white RCA jacks. My TV has the red/white audio out jacks also. I plugged the audio out from the TV into the audio in for the home theater. I cannot figure out how to get the TV to send sound out of these ports. I saw that I can turn the TV speakers off. I am assuming that makes it become external sound. It's not. No sound comes through the home theater. My home theater has no digital audio in, just as a side note. This may be the whole problem, I don't know.
Right now the way I have TV sound going through my home theater is from the cable box. It has an audio out that I have hooked in the same ports that I tried putting my TV in. It works fine this way. I pop my HT onto the aux option and I get the sound. So I know this can work.
The only problem I have is when I want to use my 360. I want my games to come out of the speakers. I have to do some cable switching to make it work. I want whatever the TV is playing to come through the surround sound. Does this make sense to you?
Basically, this is no big deal and I have a work around. It is just bugging me because I can't figure it out. It seems straight forward but it's not working.
Thanks for any help you can give me. I appreciate it.
