The Hustler - 2-Disc Collector's Edition...

I couldn't find anything with the search function but I would like to know if Fox ever did anything to correct the improperly flagged discs?

I rewatched this film on TCM earlier this week and would really like to pick it up on DVD, apart from the interlacing errors (which is a HUGE issue!) the newer set looks to be a real winner.

Did Fox ever correct or repress these?

I absolutely refuse to buy any disc that is not progressively flagged...

How can the set be a real winner to you if it's not progressively flagged? I never bought this latest release because I was satisfied with the prior dvd release.

Re: The Hustler - 2-Disc Collector's Edition...

Well I said apart from the glaring mastering flaw... it seemed like a winner. Hence, if it weren't for that error and oversight on Fox's behalf, it would've been a great set and one I would have jumped at having not purchased any of the previous releases. The transfer appears a slight improvement from what I've seen, the supplements interesting, nice packaging... but as I said, I would never consider any disc that isn;t progressively flagged. I take it from your response that Fox has never addressed this error?
