Satellite receiver connections

The Direct TV instructions for hooking up the Sat receiver shows the audio L/R going from the receiver to the TV, and the HT receiver audio L/R connecting to the audio outputs on the TV. Is this correct ?

I might want to use a digital coax audio cable from the Sat receiver to the HT receiver, and then use the analog L/R from the Sat receiver to the TV. Is that correct ? . Im not sure of the proper connections and dont know if using more than one output on the Sat receiver cancels the other one out.

Im trying to hook up an Onkyo SRTX700, Direct TV standard receiver and a 32" sony flat screen [about4 years old} The Onkyo instructions Do Not show an audio connection from the HT receiver to the monitor. Only several ways to connect Video. I assume they plan on you using the receiver all the time.

That's the way I have mine hooked up. This way you can use the HT receiver for surround sound or just the tv's speakers if you wish. BTW, they don't cancel each other out so don't forget to lower the volume on your tv when listening to your HT receiver (sometimes I forget ).
